Make sure QuickTime uses UDP as a streaming transport. Here's how:
- On Mac OS X
- From the Apple menu choose 'System Prefernces...'.
- In System Preferences, click the QuickTime icon.
- Select the tab labeled 'Advanced'.
- There is a pop up button labeled 'Transport Setup'. Ususally this holds the value 'Automatic' which should work in most cases. If it does not, choose 'Custom...' from the pop up menu.
- In the resulting sheet choose 'UDP' from the 'Transport Protocol' pop up.
- Click 'OK' to dismiss the sheet.
- Close System Preferences.
- On Windows
- Open Control Panel.
- In Control Panel, click the QuickTime icon.
- Select the tab labeled 'Advanced'.
- There is a drop down box labeled 'Transport Setup'. Ususally this holds the value 'Automatic' which should work in most cases. If it does not, choose 'Custom...' from the drop down menu.
- In the resulting dialog choose 'UDP' from the 'Transport Protocol' drop down.
- Click 'OK' to dismiss the dialog.
- Click 'OK' in the QuickTime Preferences dialog to dismiss it.
